Busters Book Club

Reading is our focus at Sturry CE Primary School this year. We are taking part in Buster's Book Club this year, which is ran by the KM Charity Team. The aim of the scheme is to encourage your child to read more and that this extra reading should be of literature they really enjoy! As your child moves through the school their reading target will grow. In Reception and Year 1 they should aim to read/share a book for 10 minutes per day. In Year 2 and 3 it is 15 minutes per day and in Years 4, 5, 6, it is 20 minutes per day.

By now your child should have received and brought home a Buster's Club Bookmark and information sheet. Can we please remind parents (and children) to enter their minutes of reading each Wednesday evening in order to take part in Survey Day (Thursday). The class with the most minutes will become the Reading Class of the week and will receive the trophy in celebration assembly. The children in the class with the highest reading minutes (between now and Easter) will receive either a Leeds Castle entry voucher each or a free ticket to the Gillingham Ice Rink each.
